Business Transformation Case Study: Doris Duke Foundation, Strategic Consultant & Executive Producer 

Background:

The Doris Duke Foundation’s (DDF) was created in 1996 to support a more creative, equitable and sustainable future for people and the planet. Over the last twenty-five years, the foundation has funded grants totalling approximately $1.5 billion in the arts, science and environment, child-well being, and its building bridges program.

Opportunity:

In 2023, DDF had an opportunity to increase their incredible impact and influence through a more focused and consistent marketing strategy and approach. This strategic effort would allow DDF to increase attention and urgency to their mission and programs by more effectively communicating, influencing and inspiring action.  

Outcome: 

The work led to the successful hire of the first ever Chief Influence & Marketing Officer in the sector and the creation of a newly established marketing, partnerships and communications capability to substantially accelerate DDF’s pursuit of its mission.  

Architected the framework for DDF to consistently present itself with: 
One Vision that puts forth Doris Duke’s vision and legacy in the context of today. 
One Identity for DDF to present itself to the world.  
One Voice for all marketing and communications.  

Including brand identity advisory and a new organizational approach including proposed structure, job descriptions, workshops with internals and recruiter introductions.
