Background: 

Nexstar Media Group is in the midst of a transformation to be a media company of consequence across the national media marketplace.  As they evolve and advance their ad sales organization, capabilities and go-to-market message, the Chief Revenue Officer sought to create and launch a recurring thought leadership series.  

Opportunity: 

Create an editorially-lead event series that demonstrates Nexstar’s ability to facilitate critical conversations. Show the company’s leadership position in the industry and bias for action to drive impact.  

  • Highlight a single topic that is important to the industry and that advances Nexstar’s position as a thought leader and trusted partner.  

  • Put forth perspective(s) that are grounded in facts and data that will provide attendees with insights to impact their business decisions. 

  • Demonstrate the power of Nexstar’s portfolio and the opportunity this represents for marketers. 

Outcome: 

“The Next Series” launched in November 2023 with its inaugural event, “Growing Brands & Serving Communities.”  Featuring a distinguished gathering of journalists and media executives as panelists and guest speakers, this event focused on understanding the intricate relationship between media, brands, and the flow of news and information. 

  • Standing room only program at NYC’s Paley Center for Media 

  • Created sustainable and repeatable template for future The Next Series events 

  • Facilitated editorial strategy, planning and production 

  • Managed all creative development of the event identity and run-of-show
